Birthday Girl // My Birthday Makeup

Hello my lovelies!

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you would know that yesterday was my birthday! Yup, I am now 24 years old and nothing has changed.
I still feel like a child stuck in a body of a 24 year old woman haha. But seriously, all of us have a little child inside and mine is still here, very much alive and she shows up more often than I would like.

How to Contour w/ Powder ft Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette | MakeupByLisa

Hello my loves.

Another video is live and that means a new post here as well. I am going to try, from now on, to connect this blog a little bit more with my YouTube Channel. I am really enjoying making those videos but I know that I can't make them too long or it gets boring.
So the other way to share more information about the products that I use or review on my channel will be describing them here on my blog and giving you a more detailed opinion too.

Lorac Pro 1 & 2 Dupes by Make Up Revolution | For who's on a budget

I am the one that loves make up but doesn't like to spend £40 in a foundation neither £50 on an eye shadow palette. I know that you get what you pay for but there are so many amazing drugstore make up products out there that I just think "Why bother getting something so expensive when you can get similar for less?".
So I am always on the hunt for good dupes or new products that are affordable and worth having in my little makeup collection.
You may have heard of the brand MakeUp Revolution and if you didn't, you must leave your little world and go and explore the many beautiful thing that they have.
I am a huge fan of MakeUp Revolution but unfortunately here in Blackpool, they don't stock half of what the brand supplies to us! And it is so frustrating because I don't like to buy makeup online because I always think that the photos of the products don't do them justice. Anyways, this time I decided to just ignore my fear of buying makeup products online and I just went for it. I bought three makeup revolution products: Iconic Pro 1 , Iconic Pro 2 and the Ultra Professional Blush Palette. This last one, I wasn't really too sure about. What I really wanted was a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit but as I couldn't find any (if you know about some, just let me know) I decided to buy this blush palette as I don't have that many and I don't regret doing it!

So I went away and took some photos as soon as I got them in the post to share with you and give you my opinion. Bare in mind that I haven't tried any makeup look with them. I just swatch them on my arm. So.. here we go!

ICONIC PRO 1

This one is the Iconic Pro 1 and, has you can see it has 8 matte and 8 shimmery eye shadows - and so has the Iconic Pro 2 that I will show bellow.
I would say that this is more like a nude eye shadow palette even thought it has a couple of shades "out of the box" that I absolutely love: Stage and Addicted - the 6th and 7th eye shadows on the second row.
I just loveee this palette. You can get some amazing looks with this one either for an everyday basis or a night out thanks to the beautiful shimmery colours that this palette provides.
Swatch timeee!

I am obsessed with the 3rd shimmery eye shadow "Getter". Don't you just love it?
The eye shadows are very pigmented and there is no fall out. They seem to be quite easy to blend and work with. I am very excited to try it out!

ICONIC PRO 2

I have to say that I much prefer the Iconic Pro 2 than the previous one just because you have neutral but also a pop of colour in this palette. I have seen many makeup plum looks that can be achieved with this palette and that look amazing in brown eyes - just like mine! So I am really excited to try it out.
Same as before, we have 8 matte and 8 shimmery eye shadows that are very pigmented and easy to blend. Oh.. and I forgot to mention that both of the palettes come with a double ended eye shadow brush that I still have to try to then say something about it.

And here are the swatches again. I think that my photos don't do this palette or the other any justice. I still need to improve my "swatching" technique ahah.
But in conclusion, I love both of these palettes. I know that they were released a while ago but I just had the courage to buy makeup online very recently. Now that I got the hang of it, I am afraid that I won't be able to control myself!

Ultra Professional Blush Palette | Sugar and Spice

As I said, buying this blush palette was not in my plans. I wanted a contour kit but I couldn't find any that I loved and, again, buying it online didn't help,
So, not finding the thing that I wanted, I saw this one and I was quite in love with it. I loved the shades, and I thought that I could maybe make it work for some contouring with the two shades on the first row. I don't own many blushes. I actually just have one that I wear all the time and sometimes I feel like I need some more for different looks. I was in need for a peachy one and this blush palette filled that need of mine. So this comes with six blushes and two highlighters that are absolutely stunning I must say. You have to swatch it to believe me!
Let's see if I can do them justice..

Can you just see how stunning these are? I am in love with the pink highlighter. I need to make it work! Do you have this palette? What do you think about it?
I am in love and can't wait to try it out. If you have any looks that you want me to try with either Iconic Pro 1 or 2 just let me know. Comment with the photo or link and I am more than happy to recreate it. I am trying to start YouTube Makeup Videos and I need some encouragement and also inspiration! So.. let me know !

Make Up Revolution in Blackpool

Hello everybody!

Today I came to talk to you about the exciting news (at least it is for me) that Makeup Revolution is now available at the Superdrug store at Houndshill Shopping Center, here in Blackpool.

Since this makeup brand was first release everyone was so excited about it due to all the dupes that were released, like dupes of the Naked, Naked 2 and Naked 3 makeup palettes, dupe of the Too Faced I love Chocolate and much, much more.
I am sure many of you know this brand but I just had to share the excitement in having it now so close to me. I really don't like to buy makeup online, I much rather see it in person, try it and then buy it so this is good!
And I also don't love to spend lots of money in makeup so this is a really good makeup brand, with amazing quality and great prices!
I own already three makeup palettes, one blush, one lipstick, eye primer, highlighter, I finished the concealer and this were all things that I bought online! I just couldn't resist when it was released.
Can you imagine what it is going to happen to me now that I can buy it in store?
Oh dear...

September Favourites

Hello everybody!

As September is coming to an end, today I decided to share with you my absolutely favourites of this month.
As I have never done a post like this before, I am warning you now that I will probably mention some products that I have bought a few days or a few months ago! So bare with me..remember it is my first monthly favourites ever!

First I need to mention my brand new camera (actually I bought it a couple of months ago, ups. But it is still new!) Canon 700D. She is my baby, my everything. Even if you don't know a thing about photography or DSLR cameras, you will be able to take some nice photos with this beauty because.. oh well, she is fantastic.
If you go through the instructions book that comes with it, you will be able to easily use the many features that this camera comes with. That was what I did and even though I know that I am far, far away from being an expert in photography I have been able to take some pretty nice, decent photos.
So, there you go. If you want to invest in a good DSLR, this is a good one.

Next is my Real Techniques Sam's Picks brush set. I think I mentioned in my previous posts that only recently - and when I say recently it is like since the last 6 months - I started using make up properly. Foundation, powder and all that stuff that you are suppose to put in your face to look decent.
So it was only 'till a few months ago (again) that I decided to buy my first ever proper brush set. And I choose Real Techniques. Only because many of the YouTube Channels that I follow use them a lot and also because I believe it is a good price for the quality of the brushes.
Before I used my fingers to apply BB Cream and only after having these brushes I started to wear foundation
So, Real Techniques Sam's Picks Brush Set - really good if you want to start your makeup brushes collection. haha
They are my everyday makeup brushes. I absolutely love them.

Another beauty product that I am loving at the moment is the Rimmel Lipstick by Kate Moss - Rossetto/Rouge à Lèvres in the shade 30. I was trying to find a dark lipstick that looked like a beautiful dark red lipstick that Zoella wears in one of her videos but I ended up with this plum one that is so nice, matte and smells lovely!
I really love the color, it is very autumny (if you know what I mean) and it is very long lasting - if you are very careful while eating.

Another makeup favourite that I have at the moment are the Makeup Revolution Palettes. I now have three of them. The most recent one I bought this month in Edinburgh - Iconic 3. They say it is a dupe of the Naked 3 and even though I don't own the Naked 3 I must agree that it is. The colors are just the same but just a little bit less pigmented that the original (from what I could see in store). But it does the same job! I don't really like to spend much money in makeup, I am more of a high street makeup addict so Makeup Revolution as been a really good option for me!

Going now to clothes - and this one I bought in September - is this beautiful scarf, 100% cachmere, that I bought while I was in Edinburgh. It is sooooo soft, the colour is really feminine and I think that it gives an elegant touch to your everyday look.
And also, now that we are talking about clothing, I also love this dress that I purchased from Primark. Such a lovely color for autumn and I absolutely love the white collar.

Here is the scarf. And as background the big Arthur's Seat

And here is the dress. With the scarf.
Sorry I don't have a better photo to show you the dress.
I wore this dress with a gloden and black necklace from Stradivarius, some regular thighs from Primark and black shoes from Primark too. I was going for some black ankle boots that I took with me but to walk around the city with heels didn't sound like a good idea!

Now I would like to tell you about one of my monthly favourite books but the truth is that I am not reading as much as I used to and that is a shame. Because I used to love to read and now I just feel like I can't be bother. I am just being to lazy and that can't happen. So, from today, I am going to start reading a brand new book that I am going to download to my Kobo. And then I can talk to you about it. Deal?
We have a deal!

And this is it. I think it was a good start for my first monthly favourites. Let me now if you liked this post and I can carry on with this type of thing.

Thank you for reading!
